Hi it wasn't me that set this up it was already in place, I'm not back at the office until wednesday so I will find out exactly what was used then..but its not an alert as such from what I have been told its a differant spreadsheet that basically changes colour when something is due a reassment. so say 6 weeks before it will go orange 3 weeks before another colour and a week before it will turn red.
I am presuming a consiquence formula has been used but I am not certain how they have linked all other workbooks up to alert one. If this sounds useful then let me know and I will deffinatly find out Wednesday if I can't get the info before.
^ Sounds like they used conditional format. Also, you can use a macro to issue a popup at certain time if you want a reminder.
