    Automatic roll up dates

    Hi guys,

I have a bunch of data where i need to transfer from A to B format
My question is how to automatic roll up the "From" dates when column A (Name) is the same and with different payment dates. (earlier payment dates goes first) as shown in below sample.

    Hope this make sense.

    Example as shown below:

    A)
Name Payment Days Start Date Payment Date
    AA 200 10 01-05-15 01-04-15
    BB 300 20 04-05-15 30-04-15
    AA 400 15 01-05-15 25-04-15
    BB 500 40 04-05-15 01-04-15

    B)
    Name Payment From End
    AA 200 01-05-15 11-05-15
    BB 300 13-06-15 03-07-15
    AA 400 11-05-15 26-05-15
    BB 500 04-05-15 13-06-15

    Re: Automatic roll up dates

The only difference between "before" and "after", so far as I can see is that column D in "after" is simply Days plus From. But that can't be it... can it???

    Re: Automatic roll up dates

    Hi Glenn,

Thanks for your response. But this is not i'm looking for.
The problem i'm facing is how to automatic generate the "From dates" in B section.

    Example: In A) section

AA have start date on 1/5/15 and different payment dates

    In B) Section

Based on the payment date (Earliest date) will determine "From" Date will = the start date as listed in A section and subsequently the another payment date with same name will roll up into another "From" date (= previous payment "End Date") . If this make sense?

It is a bit complicated, sorry didn't make it clear at the first stage.

    Cheers,
    Wilson

OK. I was pretty cetain that it wasn't that simple. But, it might be a good start if you were to post an Excel sheet. I can't tell whether 01-05-15 is 5th January or 1st May. Either way it looks like the payment date is before the start date. Also, why are there still two AAs in the "after" version".

    Confoosed...
