Issue....Need Help Please!

Is there a way, in a spreadsheet with a PivotTable, to have it so column A (which houses the PivotTable) can be set to auto fit (so when I click the expand buttons I can view all the characters for the fields that dropdown) and when I collapse the fields, it returns to its original width? But at the same time I am doing this, all my other columns widths in the spreadsheet housing info go unchanged?

I have been searching for an answer to this solution with no success and I hope I am not the only person who has encountered this issue.
