I ran into a problem where a buch of my cells in a sheet created hyperlinks in the cell. They are all linking to the same file, which is a file on another users computer and does not exist. It is possible the the user on the other computer created these on accident, though they don't know how they would of done it and they also don't have any need to be using the file.
The question I have is how do I remove all these hyperlinks? I tried selecting all the cells in the sheet and removing hyperlings. Didn't work. Tried selecting only 2 cells that both had the hyperlink and removing the hyperlinks. Didn't work. I tried microsofts recommendations and put a "1" in a blank cell, and did a paste special as a multiply to remove the links. Didn't work. Not all of the cells are hyperlinked, and the cells that are hyperlinked don't have the blue text that is underlined, as is the case with other hyperlinked cells.
Consequently I am hitting the "Too many different cell formats" issue (Over 64,000 cell formats it looks like). So when I try to removed these links, or add more information/cell formats, it crashes the file and removes all formatting to the entire workbook....except for the hyperlinks. I have been able to successfully removed hyperlinks one by one, but this is tedious as there are over 60,000 cells for me to do this to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The size of the files is 1.5 GB, I am running Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007. The excel version is SP1 MSO (12.0.6320.50000)
Thank You
-Mike
