    Conditional Format

    Hi guys,

I have a problem that I think can be sorted with CF but I am not sure how to do it!

I have a spreadsheet with my credit card spending/payments. One of the columns has the amount in £'s and as I pay it off I put a strikethrough through the amount.

What I would like is the cells in that column highlighted in some way when there is not a strikethrough through the amount, so that it shows me that it hasn't been paid yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am using Office 2007.

    Regards
    Glenn

Hi Glenn, and welcome to the forum,

You can't check for font types using conditional formatting, however you could use a small macro like the following:

This loops through the cells on Sheet1, column F (from row 1 to the last used row) and checks to see if the font in each cell has Strikethrough applied. If not, it sets the cell background (interior) color to red (3). Other checks could be applied as well, i.e. only color cells that aren't strikethrough AND that aren't empty.

Many thanks for your quick reply....With a bit of tinkering (column letters, Sheet names etc) it worked a treat....many thanks.

So what would I need to add so that the macro only coloured cells that aren't strikethrough AND that aren't empty?

    Cheers
    Glenn

The reason why I posted on two sites is becasue there is often more than one way of skinning a cat. Now that I have had a reply from this site I have added this to the other site.
