    Excel date question

Ok, here's my problem. I have a spreadsheet and the dates were manually entered in general format so that today's date would read: 20081014

I need to find a way to convert this number into the actual date format that excel recognizes...any ideas? Thanks!

    =TEXT(A1, "0000\/00\/00") + 0 and format as a date.
