Excel 2007 : 2007 Copy & paste issues

Hi, I can't remember if I asked this already.
I am having problems copying from one spreadsheet into another. at first it works just fine, then it gets confused. the paste - pastes back empty cells and changes the whole sheet format. I can paste the clipbrd into other apps like word or notepad and see the copy'd data.

Any ideas what's going on.

I would guess you are pasting formulas not values.
