Year 2005 Expressed As A Number

I am using the formula =COUNTIF(A1:A16,">39083")
to count date fields. Most of the dates are after
01/01/2007 which is accomodated by the number
39083, however, I have a few dates after
01/01/2005 and before 01/01/2007. Which number
    reflects the year 2004.

    Thanks.

You can use date strings: =COUNTIF(A1:A16, ">1/1/2007")

    Or you can use:

    =SUMPRODUCT(--(YEAR(A1:A65535)=2005))

to count the number of cells which are dated in 2005.

Note: Cannot use entire column within a Sumproduct formula.

    Regards
    Mike
