Groups & inactive tools

I have a contact database in which I have grouped a number of columns together. When opening the file this morning I was unable to expand the group (usually by clicking on the + icon). I have also noticed that a number of the toolbars are grayed including all 'grouping and outline' icons.

The file name looks normal except when I open the file then suddenly the file name also has [Group] at the end of it. The file is not protected so this is not the problem. I have never encountered anything like this before with excel.

The[Group] indicates that you have more than 1 sheet currently selected.

Right click sheet tab and pick Ungroup sheets.
