    Sumif function won't recognize text

I'm having a problem with the sumif function...I'm using it to calculate averages for NBA teams and it's working fine for all teams except the Boston Celtics. For some reason sumif won't recognize the text "Boston Celtics" as the criteria. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Hi

Probably due to leading/trailing spaces in the range. Fastest way to get this solved would be to post a sample workbook showing the sumif not working. Alternatively, try using this variant:

    =SUMIF(Sum_Range,"*boston*celtics*")
