Ctrl - home isnt going home on sheet for sorting

    Hello,
Yes I know I am the one with the most simple questions yet these are the little things that trip me up.

I have several spread sheets I sort daily, now suddenly today when I hit Ctrl / home it wont go home and I can not sort the sheet.

    Any suggestions would be wonderful.
    Thank you,

do you have more than 1 sheet selected? Right click sheet tab and ungroup.

Can you CTRL+Home in other workbooks?

I would start with a reboot.
The test the ctrl key in another application.
The test it in excel on a new workbook.

I have rebooted still no luck.

CTRL key works outside of Excel.

The test it in excel on a new workbook.

5 new work books now and no different then the old ones. I am pulling my hair out on this one.

In addition when I do CTRL+HOme it goes to a random cell different every time but never home.

Check setting Tools > Options > Transition > Transition navigation keys

It doesn't sound like this is your problem but FYI, if you are using "Freeze Panes" the cursor will not go to A1 but to where you froze the panes.

That was it that was the trick.
Thank you so much, someone must have been on my computer, I have never changed those settings.

    Thanks again,
