I have a column with monetary values in and need to know how to show in another cell the total number of entries for that column (not the sum of the values).

Hi,
If for example you're talking about column A,
=COUNT(A:A)
will give the total number of entries for that column
Rule 1: Never merge cells
Rule 2: See rule 1
