Inserting rows into table, which copy the color of up/down rows. how to?

    Hi,

I have this table and there are 4 colors in it, but whenever I insert a row, it's not of the same colour as the one in table. How to do it? You know, when you click under the row which is green and go to insert, the inserted row is green also.
    How to do it?

I think insert row copies the format of the row above.

If you really can't work with this we could write a tiny macro to copy the format of the active row. This could be implemented with a shortcut key...

yeah, usually it does copy formatting, but I converted my table to table using CTRL+T shortcut, so there a problem emergers and when I go to insert, it's just some blue colour (not like the one as in the table).

I'm not sure about this so sorry if I'm guessing the wrong problem.

When you define a list or table in Excel, it creates a "new line" line (paler blue in your table) which acts like the last record of an access database. When you start typing in the "new line" line it copies down any formulae which run down the table to the line it creates for you. Very handy for when you need to populate large tables manually. If you click outside of the table the "new line" line disappears.

Is this what you mean? If you don't like it, convert your list to a normal range. (not sure of the commands in XL2007 but the shortcut combo Alt+D, I, V will do it).

If this is not it, I'm afraid I don't think I can help, inserting new lines works perfectly well for me on your spreadsheet (formats copied from line above).

    Hi,

Thank you for your effort. Yes everything you say is right. I forgot to say WHERE I want to insert a row. Sure if I do it at the end, as if I want to input a new record it is fine. But please see my attachement, I want to insert a yellow row among other yellow rows, the inserted line is just blue.
Well I figured, I can solve this in a different manner.

Btw, are you aware of any skype excel group ? That would be really helpful too.

    Thank you again!
