Copy Paste large columns

I have a spread sheet that has over 40000 rows in it
I want to copy and past a formula in the next columb and it takes for ever
to hold donw the mouse and mark the area I want to copy to. In fact I stick a toothpick in the mouse to hold it so I'm not handcuffed to the desk
I use excel office 2003
is there a way to copy and paste over large areas

Just double-click the fill handle, and the formula will fill to the last row that has data to the left.
