    analysis: Rearranging data

    Hi everyone,

I wonder if anybody can help. I am doing a nutritional analysis of data, for each subject I have a row in excel for each food consumed that day (about 50 rows per subject).

My columns are, Subject ID, Weight of Food and Food Code (e.g. A, B, D).

I need to create a database where I have only one row for each subject ID, with an average weight for each food code e.g. for subject 001 one column with the average weight of food-code A, one for food-code B and one for food-code D etc.

I hope this isn't too complicated and makes some sense!

    Many thanks in advance.

If I understood your problem and data layout a simple pivot table will give you the required structure and values.
