    Filtering by a set

I'm trying to filter a massive list in excel by only a few specific numbers. Unfortunately, there are enough of them (700 or so) that I can't really use the built in filters for things like this. I was wondering if anyone who knew Excel better than I could help. Is there a way to do this? I want to be able to filter a list of maybe 20,000 items by about 700 discontinuous values.

I want to be able to filter files like that based on certain values of the first column. For example, I may want player_id {2,26,35,556,...,1538,6321} to stay and the rest to be hidden or something like that.

So just highlighting row 1 from column A to column Z.

Then go to the Data tab then click on 'Filter'.

Then you can click on the down arrow now appeared in the select row the filter the out the numbers you don't want.

    Does this help ??

That's the thing, though. I want to save maybe 700 of the entries, but there's about 17000 of the to uncheck, or 700 to check. Either way, I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it.

FYI, not everyone has xl07 so you should save it as a earlier version.

Maybe you could use advance filter
