Security - Protecting a paticular sheet only.

hello, right i have produced a spreedsheet on ms excel.
On sheet 2 is all of the information and tables etc.. for example prices and information for the combo boxes an such...i need to protect this sheet so no one can change anything on it

the problem is when i do so, and go back onto sheet 1 and say tick a checkbox or select something from the combo box is doesnt allow me to, the protection message comes up

i dont want this to come up on sheet 1, only on sheet 2!

i think its because i have links between the pages? like all of the info for the combo box is on sheet 2

I really need to know how i can do this?

    please help.x

Protecting a SHEET instead of the workbook does not result in the behavior you're describing.

If you are really protecting SHEET2 and not the whole workbook, then post it up so we can look at it and see what might be going on.

Are the checkboxes on Sheet1 linked to cells on Sheet2? If so, those cells must be unprotected.

If you're worried a user will fiddle with sheet2 and mess up your automation, hide the sheet with a macro that makes the sheet VeryHidden. Then you won't need to protect it at all since it will be invisible.

I'd like to see the workbook. I think, that even though you have links between the checkboxes and Sheet2, that shouldn't cause a problem unless the macro is trying to alter values on sheet2.
