    Multiple Widths Within Same Column

Is it now possible with Excel 07 to make 2 smaller column widths of 7 each below within a column that has a width of, say 14? Or do I need to get a type of Form software pkg.? I know it's possible to merge cells so that one cell can span over 2 columns but can you divide a column width into 2 cells or make a range of 2 or more cells while the top of the column retains a larger width?

    Welcome to the forum.

The width of a column, and the height of a row, is constant throughout the sheet.

Merging is still the only way as far as I know. excel then skips (in your case) the row to the right of the merged cells.
