Auto alocation of data from one spread sheet to another

OK so I use a spread sheet to log all the maintence work done around the hotel I work at. Each line is comprised of the date, room or location, what was done, and who did it.

What I would like to know, is there a forumla I could use that would automatically alocated each room or location on to its own spread sheet so I manually dont have to update each indivual room or location.

    Hi,

    Welcome to the forum, but

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

I have edited my title, and I hope now I can get some advice. I have recieved some advice, in relation to using access. However I just thought I'd see if anyone had an idea as to wiether this was possible in excel.

I'm in dire need of a solution to this problem. Is there no macro that can randomly search an excel document and only extract the corresponding lines one wishes to extract?

Or for say I wanted to copy line 16, 32, 79, 654 , 937, 1434, 2044 is there a way to copy just these lines? I tried to "cntrl" click em, but I get an error when trying to copy em

Please any help would be greatly appreciated

One of the reasons that this rule exists is to allow for people to easily search the forum for solutions to the problem they currently have, because this may then negate the need for the user to create their own thread. Your attitude/manners seem to be lacking slightly but there may still be people willing to help...

Yes, this is possible in Excel. You may find an almost ready made solution if you try searching the forum for keywords such as "autofilter", "pivot table" "copy matching data", "advanced filter" & "visible rows" & checking the thread Titles for the most likely candidates.

On the other hand, if you are not very experienced with macros it may be easier for someone to create one for you. To "help out the helpers", can you please attach an example workbook with the layout & a small data set of dummy/non-confidential data?
