    Autoshape for Pie Segment

    Hi,

This is a bit of a random question but does anybody have an excel autoshape for a pie segment?!

What I'm looking at doing is creating a manual pie chart that is set into quarters. This will then be divided into 4 sections per quarter. The sections need to be seperate in order for me use a macro to colour the sections depending on a cell value.

    Any Idea?!

    Regards

    Re: Autoshape for Pie Segment

You could use a Block arc. You will need to adjust the depth of the arc to none in order to get a wedge. Then adjust the rotation to get the position right.

It may be simpler to use an actual pie chart and colour code the slices.

Can you post an example workbook showing various data sets and how you want information displayed?

Question Re: Autoshape for Pie Segment

    Roy,

Thank you for the info, is it possible to create a new autoshape in Excel?!

Just that I have the coding sorted already, and just require the physical shape for this to work!!!!

If not do you know and easy way to split a pie chart, I need 3/4 of the pie chart to be split in 4 sections per quarter and 1 quarter to be split into 8 sections. This will then need to be conditional formatted into 3 different colours depending on the cell values.

Sorry for the asking pretty much the same question again but I really need to get this sorted asap...trust me your help is much appreciated.

    Regards

Question Re: Autoshape for Pie Segment

    Andy,

Just wondering if you have had any joy?!

The pie segments do not need to change in size with any data they just need to change colour depending upon a specific cells value.

I explained how to create a pie wedge.
You have the code to colour and autoshape.

I also said a normal pie chart may be better suited.

If you still need help then post an example with explanation of what should be colour what and why.

Unhappy Re: Autoshape for Pie Segment

    Andy,

    Sorry to confuse you!!

I think you may be right with regards to the pie chart, please find attached a copy of what I'm trying to achieve.

What I need this pie chart to do is if I put say for instance a 1 in cell A1 then I need Topic 1 Segment 1 to be Red, if I put a 2 in A1 then I need it to be Orange or if I put a 3 in A1 I need this segmnet to be Green.

I need this for all of the segments listed, the input cells will be from A1 to A20.

If you have any ideas on how I can create this then I would love to know.

    Regards

    Francouk

    PS...Sorry to be pain
