    Ctrl+Shift Selection Problem

I have a problem that has happened since I've upgraded to Excel 2007.

When I either use Ctrl+Shift+Arrows or Shift+Arrows to select a lot of data, when I release the arrow key it returns to the start of the selection as opposed to staying at the end.

I've tried to find the option to toggle to stop this happening, but I'm drawing a blank.

If anyone can help, that would be great!

    Thanks in advance,

    Tibbs

can you explain in a bit more detail...

    where do you start?
    what keystroke do you use?
    where do you end up?
    what was you expecting?
    Cheers

    Re: Ctrl+Shift Selection Problem

Say I have Data starting in cell A1 and running down to Z234.

I want to select it all to paste into another worksheet.

I click in Cell A1 and using Ctrl+Shift and the right arrow Excel highlights all the cells from A1 to Z1.

On previous versions of Excel, the screen focus would stay on Z1, but on my current installation it moves the focus back to A1. The cells stay highlighted.

If I then use Ctrl+Shift and the down arrow, it will then select the cells A1:Z234, but the focus will shift down to Z234 for a split second, but then move back to A1 again.

It's no so much a problem using Ctrl+Shift as I'm selecting the entire data table, but it's a total nightmare if I only want half the data for instance, getting the right cells highlighted is very difficult.

    I can not reproduce this.

Is it all workbooks or just this particular one? If so does it have macro code in it?

    Have you applied SP1 ?

    Re: Ctrl+Shift Selection Problem

It only seems to do it on new documents. On old documents created before the upgrade, they seem to be fine.

Troublingly, it doesn't seem to do it all the time either.

I'm trying to find out what version of Excel I have, but I don't seem to be able to find the about... button

As a side, to get to the bottom cell of a single column selected range again, Shift + Tab or Shift + Enter will work. Also CNTRL + .
