Pivot Table Quandry

Hi, I need to create a pivot table that for its time measurements would compare year over year which isnt that difficult, but the kicker is I need it to do to the nearest exact measurement of time for each year. IE Sales thru 3-5-08 versus 3-5-09 nd I have fiscal years of measurement not calendar- its for July 1 2007 to June 30th 2008 as one fiscal year and July 1 2008 to current days as the second - any ideas
Both years in the comparasion have to start July 1 one of 08 and other of 09

In the first column would be Sales sub categories like Product A, Product B and so on-

In thle next 2 columns would be the respective fiscal years - 7-1-07-3-7-08 vs 07-01-08-03-06-09 would measure sales last year to sales this year thru today

there is potentially thousands of transactions needed to summarize which is what makes the pivot table such a compelling choice
