Allow cell formatting in specific unlocked cells in a protected worksheet.

I have a protected worksheet where I have disallowed cell formatting. I want to allow cell formatting in only three of the 100 unlocked cells. These three cells are the ones where I am using a pop up calendar to enter the date. If I do not permit these cells to be formatted the pop up calendar does not work.

I hope someone can help me with this. Sorry if a solution already exists on the site but I cannot seem to find one.

    Thanks
    P.

    Please follow following steps
    Before doing the protection…
1.Select the cells that you want to grant access to users
2.From menu bar, click tools>protection>allow users to edit ranges
3.In the dialog box, click new and click OK (note that the cells that are selected in step1 are still in selected mode)
4.Now protect your sheet from tool>protection>protect sheet (with or without password)

Now users can only access the cells selected in step1
