Can't unselet tab!

After I click (select) on a tab, I don't have the ability to unclick it. It stays highlighted as if I were trying to move it, but I can't even do that. I hve no ability to move it, change its name, unselect it, etc. I can't even click on a cell or the toolbars. The only option I have is to quit excel completely by right clicking on the task bar icon and selecting quit. Can someone help?

This doesn't sound like an Excel problem, more like a Windows / OS problem.
Try a computer reboot.
