related text change font color

Hello again,
I have been presented with another problem. I want to take a cell example A1 and put a 1 in it. Then take B1 and put text in it. Then if A1 is a one it will turn the font in B1 to red. Does that make sense? I hope so. I have tried different things with conditional formatting and custom function but can not get it to work. Please help.

Selecting B1, conditional formatting Formula is

=A1=1

and format the font to red (I usually go with bold too). Is that what you wanted?

Not exactly but we are close. What I need it to do is change whatever text I have in B1 to red. The formula you gave change the cell to true or false but colored the font red, which is what I want.

Select cell B1, do Format > Conditional Formatting, change the drop-down to Formula Is, and paste Chemist's formula in the next box.

Then click Format, and set it as you wish.

Click Go Advanced, select [SOLVED] from the Prefix dropdown, then click Save Changes
