I know it can be done but don't know how to create a macro in Excel to add 1 to the cell below like an autonumber in MS Access.
The table I'm creating will be used to track journals I want the system to generate the next journal number and I want to number to be prefixed with the fiscal year i.e. FY0809.
It's not quite as nice as Access, but if you make formulas below data then create a list, the formulas do get copiied down. Try it out, just put a value below the data.
If you can't figure out how a formula works, try stepping through it using "Evaluate Formula" in the Formula Auditing menu item in the tools menu!
If you want to see where your code went wrong, try stepping through it by clicking in the code and pressing F8 and watch as the magic happens!
