Can excel merge the text in to different columns?

I paste data into my excel sheet...for example

    A B

    Red Apple

is there a formula in excel to merge "red" and "apple" so that in column C, it says "Red Apple" in one cell? Thanks.

i wanted to do that so i could do a v lookup with the merged cell....the merge worked but the v lookup wont recognize it. am i doing something wrong or is there a better way to look up the contents of two cells?

Re: Can excel merge the text in to different columns?

The first column in the Vlookup table must have the exact same text in it (e.g. Red Apple)
Where there is a will there are many ways.
