    Conditional Chart Formatting

Hey all, I'm trying to make a bar graph I have, conditionally change colors depending on the value of a certain field.

    example chart: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...k/image001.png

what I'm trying to do, is color the AMD chips green, and the Intels blue to better help differentiate the information, I can do that via fill options, but every time I change a field, the color no longer applies to the right value.

Is there an available plug-in? or is this buried deep in excel somewhere?

Thanks for any help in advance,
    -IL

    Re: Conditional Chart Formatting

a manual way is to right click chart
    chart options /show legend
then on each legend key if you carfullly left click on dot to select it you can then double click and change its colour. when done hide legend
then again thats in 97 and you have fare mor control in 2007 anyway

or then again perhaps like this
    see attached
uses 2 series amd and intel and a match with wild cards to fill series

    Re: Conditional Chart Formatting

So basically creating multiple series from one, I might be able to do that. so there isn't actually a function for chart conditions in itself then....hmm, MS may want to consider that for O13

Thanks, I'll play with that tonight, see what I can't do, my database has become multiple pages long, lol
