I'm using Excel 2007.

I created a chart/graph using XY scatter based on some data. After I created the chart, I "move" the chart into a new tab as opposed to "an object within" the same tab as my data.

Under "page layout", I chose the "size" to be 11x17 (landscape). (The chart default is 8.5x11). I grab the chart and stretch it out so that it is now 11x17. I go to print or print preview, the preview looks correct.

However, when the chart is actually printed out on paper, the bottom 1/4 of the chart is cut off. I tried several things: starting over, adjusting the margins, page layout, rotating it to portrait (which disproves that it is the paper/printer since the bottom 1/4 is still not appearing even when there is plenty of area), and printing 8.5x11 chart is fine. I've tried making a pdf through Acrobat and again, the preview looks fine, but in the pdf, the 1/4 bottom of the chart is cut off.

Finally, I found a remedy - I moved the chart back into the tab with the data as "an object within". I select the chart, go to print, and chose an 11x17 layout in the printer settings (not in excel) which scales my chart up to an 11x17 layout, then my chart prints out as it should without being cut off.

Has anyone come across this and know why this is happening? Is it a quirk? Or could it be my printer settings are conflicting with excel's page layout?
