    Talking excel finding the answer to a formula

    i've made up this formula and the answer depends on a variable and i was wondering if there is a way that excel can find the smallest answer and what the variable would be

    Can you post an example file? Include an example of the input, the formula and its expected output.

    yeah sure sorry bout that i'll upload my work haha
    yeah just again i want to know if there is a way excel can find the smallest possbile answer (yellow) depending on what variable a is (blue)

    Put a number in the cell, and then use Solver to minimize G2 with a constraint to keep B6 >=0 and <=300. Or solve it in closed form by writing the formula for total time, differentiating, and solving for XC.

    That's all the help you get on homework.
