Alerts when previously entered text with certain properties is entered another time.

    Hi,

I don't know if there is a way of doing the following, but would appreciate any suggestions.

My spreadsheet contains a list of names. Some of these names are highlight red when they do not meet certain external criteria. I would like a way of:

    1)
Getting the names to go red automatically: Each name has a date entered against it to indicate the start of a task. All tasks must be completed on the same date. Another date is entered in an adjacent cell to indicate the closure of the task. This should be the same date as the first date. I would like the whole row to automatically highlight red if no date is entered in the task closure cell. Ideally I would only like it to highlight red on the following day to the original entry as tasks do not need to be highlighted until they have failed to be completed on the date of commencement. Is there any way of doing this?

    2)
Create an alert when a name previously entered and listed in red is typed in again Basically, if someone fails to complete a task on the date commenced, then their name will be highlighted in red, either manually or automatically if anyone has a solution to the above. When that person comes to complete a new task, their name is typed in again in the sheet. It is important that the person entering the name knows that the person failed to complete their task the previous occasion, and so I would like to create some system of recognising the name/part of the name so that an alert message of some kind appears to remind the user they failed to comply last time. Any ideas how to do this?

Thanks for any help or suggestions,

    Katia

Do you enter same names all over again (example: 5,10,50 people in company just for different tasks) or you enter names without prediction (example customers wich can be new or can be some previous so you want to check those same customers)?
