I have downloaded files from our acctg system into an excel format (using excel 2007). The file is saved (doesn't matter if it's .xls, .xlsx, .xlsb) and when reopened, all dates have been changed from a date format of yyyyy/mm/dd to a general format (just numbers). Can anyone explain the error message? Msg comes up saying that excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content. Then it shows that it "removed records: Style from /xl/styles.bin part (Styles)" and "reparied records: Format from /x/styles.bin part (Styles)". The view log file shows :
