    importing data from multiple tabs

Hi folks , I am new to excel but have a medium difficulty problem.. I have an excel spread sheet with about 300 tabs. each sheet has the same column fields..I need to pull certain column fields ( the same fields ) out of each tab and export them to another spread sheet...

a better place for this would be the Programming Forum. (maybe a moderator will move it for you).

    Please answer the following questions:

    1. Destination Sheet Name for columns
    2. "pull certain column fields ( the same fields ) out of each tab and export them to another spread sheet.."
Are you MOVING them from their origin to destination or just COPYING them?
    3. Will the column location ever change? Do we need to say "column J" or "the column containing the header "Price"?
    4. Column letter/number or specific header text you want moved/copied.
    5. Does the order placed on new sheet matter?

Re: importing data from multiple tabs

1.) the destination sheet name would be "consolidated equipment"

2.) I am just copying the fields over
3.) we will need to say the column containing the header name , they will be exported in a spread sheet where the columns will be in the order shown below

but they may not be in that order in the original tabs .

4.) INPUT from the following column names and data: "name ", "ip address", "Mac address", "category" on the (4th sheet to the end )about 300 to 310 sheets

INPUT from the column names and data from one sheet called "product availability" this is the third sheet in...

"Name" , "part Number" , description , EOLife", "EOsale", "EOSupport" , LDSupport

The output will be pulled from those inputs above and put into a sheet with the following column names and the data from the above sheets:

they would be labelled "Name", "part number" , "description" , "serial number " , "ip address " , ",mac address", "category", " EOLife", "EOsale", "EOSupport" , LDSupport"

this is the order they will be copied to on the output sheet ..."consolidated equipment"

these columns only exist on 1 sheet?
does this sheet have a consistent name? that would save looking through all the sheets for the column headings.

these columns only exist on 1 sheet also?

Does consolidated equipment already exist, or must it be created?

where does the serial number come from?

Is it possible to post a sample workbook with the desired results, (less a few hundred sheets)
It sounds like you're dealing with 3 sheets and the other 297 are not relevant

Re: importing data from multiple tabs

lets go ahead and delete this post , when you mentioned the serial number , i realized that the information is located in another spread sheet , with 300 more tabs .. requiring a merge of that data , and the data with the 1st spread sheet , before moving the data
to another tab .. we are looking into the original data and wondering why its not exprted in the way we want it in the first place... the tool is a network discovery tool and it pulls network information out of the network and gives management information on its network .. if this sounds like something that can be done .. ill post again on the programming section with sample workbooks showing what I need... once I get all of the data that I need .... again thanks for you help so far . regards sq
