Counting date entries between a date range

I am trying to insert a formula that counts the number of dates within a certain date range.

Can someone tell me why this sample file does not work, the answer I am looking for in cell C1 is 3

Hi Vetequk,

You're asking SUMPRODUCT to compare a date, to a text string that looks like a date 1/4/2009.

Try using DATEVALUE("1/4/2009") instead
