Remove spaces from my zip codes

Okay, I am having trouble doing the simplest of things...

I have a column of zip codes that some have spaces before them, and some have spaces after them.

I need to have no spaces at all, just the zipcode by itself.

    How do I do this?

    Please help.

    Jason

yes, I already tried that. And it did not work.

it tells me it can not find the data i am searching for.

    Thats why I was stumped...

Anything else, or did I do something for it not to work?

    Please help me... lol

If pasted from HTML, they are probably non-breaking spaces. Select the column, and in Find What, press and hold the Alt key, and on the NUMERIC keypad, type 0160

    Then Replace All.

well there are a few formulaes that removes extra spaces and unwanted formatting.. for e.g. you can try

Please Login or Register to view this content.
where A1 holds the Zip code..

or if you could post the file it would be easier to solve the doubt..

Okay I tried the clean/trim and did not work.

So I tried this one but when I try to enter the 0160 while pressing down ALT, it just makes a beep sound for each mnumber i press down.

Any other ideas, or how to get this one to work?

I also added a sample of zipcodes in my list.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jason

    Hi,

I copied that Unusual Space and replaced that one with nothing. It worked.

    You can have a look.

both methods work, the alt 0160 you must use the number/numeric key pad not the top row
which i see SHG told you!
on a laptop you would have to activate the numbers which are in blue on certain letters

    Try this formula :-

    =TRIM(SUBSTITUTE(B2,CHAR(160),""))

    infact

    =SUBSTITUTE(B2,CHAR(160),"")

works since there are no spaces in your sample!
