    Formula not updating cells accordingly

    Hi Guys

The formula in cell E10 of the attached spreadsheet is not updating accordigly when i delete cells C16:F16;C35:F35. The reason i'm deleteing these cells is because the month is over and we starting with the new month, i.e June. I have included the total sales for May in Cell F16.

I can't seem to figure it out...

When I delete ALL the cells from C16:F35, the value updates instantly. If I only delete row 16, the values do not change enough to register a change.

    Hi JBeaucaire

But if you multiply E10 by the number of working days left it does not give you the remaining figure in E7 afeter deleting these rows

Also, i have included Mays total sales in F16 so that the achieved in E6 reads from F12:F156

Re: Formula not updating cells accordingly

That is because you use the INT function which rounds down the number

    Hi rwgrietveld

Even if i do remove the "INT" it still doesnt give me the correct figure in E10.

After removing the INT, if i calculate E7/ days remaing it still does not give me the new daily target in E10

Thumbs up [solved]Re: Formula not updating cells accordingly

    Hi Climaxgp,

There is nothing wrong/incorrect in the formula you have written in E10. my guess is that it is only the way you might be deleting the May-month rows that is creating the problem.

When I deleted the relevant rows (please note - you should delete complete rows instead of just the cells) the formula was giving perfect results.

    Try this:
    • Select cells C16:C35 (for future you can use the range of rows that you wish to delete)
    • Now press SHIFT+SPACEBAR - this will select complete rows, i.e. - Row 16 till Row 35
    • Right click on the selection and then delete
Now see the results. The result of the formula should be perfect
