Data Validation - Drop Down Lists

I'm new to the forum, and have done a search prior to posting this request - apologies if I've missed the answer elsewhere.

When a Drop Down list is created for data validation in cells, by default it shows the first 8 items in the list, and if there are more items it shows a scroll bar. Is there a way to make the dropdown list display all the items by default, rather than having to use the scroll bar to access those items from 9 onwards?

    Grateful for your help.

    Regards,

    Robin

    Robin, welcome to the Board.

No, not that I'm aware of unfortunately... Data Validation Lists have a few limitations, the other being lack of Auto Complete etc... you may find the below article of interest - using a ComboBox in conjunction with Validation List, the ComboBox obviously offers more functionality:

Hi Donkeyote - thanks for that - seems to be exactly what I want functionally - a Friday morning doing VBA in Excel is tempting - I think I'll succumb
