Excel opens blank screen - Excel 2007 SP2 Glitch?

    Hi Everyone,

Since installing the new Office 2007 SP2 patch, I've had a
reoccurance of the old "Excel opens blank screen" problem...

The new Office 2007 Service Pack 2, released on 04/24/2009:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I've tried to find a working solution on the net with no luck...

When first installing Office 2007, I experienced the classic "Excel
opens blank screen" problem, which I was able to fix for .xls / .xlsx
files using the Folder Options - File Types - Open - "[open("%1")]" workaround...

I've also tried the Excel Options - Adv - General - uncheck "Ignore
other apps" trick with no luck...

What's odd is that xlsx files open fine, but xls files require me
to double-click the file again to actually open the file in the
blank screen.. the minimize trick doesn't work anymore...

    Any suggestions or ideas?

Re: Excel opens blank screen - Excel 2007 SP2 Glitch?

I seem to have found the solution... After comparing a coworker's "Excel opening correctly" Excel 2007 SP1 copy... I discovered this...

Under the "Application used to perform action" section, SP2 seemed
to have gone back to the default setting:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE" /e

re-adding the "%1" to the end of the line fixed it:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE" /e "%1"

    My coworker is a ROCKSTAR!
