    Hide certain cells

    Is there a way to hide cells so that they cannot be viewed (at least not easily)? For example, its part of a formula but you dont want it seen.

    Thanks

    What do you mean by "hidden"?

    You can stop any cell from being shown on the face of the worksheet (and hence any reports) by setting its cell format to :
    ;;;
    However, if you select that cell and look in the formula bar at the top, you will be able to see the formula. To hide this, go to Format > Cell, Protection and select the box marked Hidden. You will then have to apply protection using Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet, but that will affect the whole worksheet.

    To hide the formula from the worksheet view and the formula bar, combine the two techniques above.

    I want them to be on the sheet but unable to be seen. The above did not work. When i set it to "Hidden" it was still very much visible. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know

    It will only hide after you Protect the Worksheet. You'll need to first, unprotect (from the Cell Format window) any cells that you want people to be able to enter data/info into. Then Protect the worksheet.

    Read the post properly and try again. It works just fine if you do it correctly.

    I suspect you're not invoking protection when you've done.
