Named ranges-Should I use a dynamic named range

Hi. I have a spreadsheet with a named range covering one range in a column and another named range covering the same range of cells in the next column. I also have a named range for a lookup area covering the same cells in both of the columns. I'm running a macro that add cells to the middle of both of the two named ranges and they both expand to cover the whole area but the lookup range is not expanding.

Anyone have any ideas why? Should I use a dynamic named range or should I just cover the whole of both of the columns for the lookup rather than the two named ranges?

How are the ranges defined?

I just selected the cells that cover the data and named each range. Then when I wanted to setup the lookup range I did the same for the cells I wanted to lookup. I have now changed my lookup range to cover 10000 cells of both of the columns as there will never be that much data in the two columns but there must be a tidier way.
