LOOKUP or VLOOKUP within CSE array (2007)

    Hello Everyone,

Attached is a simplified spreadsheet that (hopefully!) clearly presents and discusses the problem that I am having.

If you're a LOOKUP or CSE wiz, I'd appreciate any tips that you might have.

Since my actual spreadsheet is substantially (!) more complex that the simple example that I have attached, I would especially appreciate suggestions that do *not* require the introduction of new rows or colums to the spreadsheet -- just some magic tweak to the formula employed.

    Thanks & cheers!

    Hello Everyone,

I solved the problem. The formula and an explanation of how it works are shown in orange in the updated spredsheet attached to this post.

If you're interested in building CSE array formulas that lookup data in tables that have different dimensions than the array formula that you are writing, you might want be interested in this example.

    Cheers,

    Jay
