How to name cells with the contents of another cell automatically

Hi there,
I am hoping someone can help!
I need to name a lot of individual cells all in the same column, with the text that is contained in the cell next to it. At the moment, I have to manually tyoe the cell references one by one. Is there a way of automatically getting it to reference the contents of the cell next door to create the name?

Hi Mick, thank you very much.
I'm not familiar with VBA, and need to make the following adjustements to the code, would you mind helping out further?
Only run for certain sections of the worksheet
Cells to be named and cells containing the name vary in different places. Could you explain the code so i can alter the relative position of each?
