Red face Copy and Paste on Filtered cells

I am filtering my sheet and then copying column P to column L. It gives me an error "this section is not valid". I have gone to the GOTO and copy visible cells only, but I can't figure out how to paste it to visible cells only.

    What am I doing wrong?

I confess I'm not quite sure what it is you're looking to do... you're saying you're filtering P then copying filtered results to L but looking to paste the results into the visible cells in P ? Is that correct ?

In theory (pending XL version) you could use formulae in L to contain the associated value of P only when it is visible using the SUBTOTAL function, ie if P1:P10 contains your data being filtered, you could use:

    L1: =IF(SUBTOTAL(103,$P1),$P1,"")
    copied down to L10

L1:L10 will only contain the visible values of P1:P10.

Failing that - post a sample and try and outline by means of additional sheets the "Before" & "After" views so we can better understand your requirements.
