max date status

Hi Guys,
Pls find attachment for details.

I want to achieve my status on the latest date. if it is ok then it shows "ok" else it should tel me the status which should be on the latest date.

Use LOOKUP

A2: =LOOKUP(REPT("Z",255),$B2:$Z2)
copy down as required (alter range (B:Z) as required)

ur solution works , but i could not able to understand the calculation method.

Pls explain

and how about the way i was doing it with offset.. why it was not working.

I confess I didn't look at your formula, note however OFFSET is Volatile so best avoided when possible (for info. on Volatility see link in my sig.)
