    Duplicate data removal

    Hi,
    Please help!
    Here's the scenario:
    1) I have one column with 4,000 email addresses.
    2) in columns B-H, I have only 650 records. Column B is where the emails are for the 650 records.

I need to get rid of the duplicate email addresses in columns A&B but still keep the other records in-tact.

    Your help is greatly appreciated...

    Re: Duplicate data removal

Use Advance Filter on each set of data separately.

    How to:
    • Click the Data Tab on the ribbon
    • Select all of the rows in colum-A only
    • In the Menu, click Advanced Filter
    • Choose the following options in the AF dialog
    • Copy to Another Location - then pick a cell on another sheet
    • Check the "Unique Records Only" at the bottom left of the dialog
    • Click OK

Repeat the process above, but select all of the data rows in B:H

You will have two lists of unique values

    Re: Duplicate data removal

    Hi,
It won't let me filter on to a different sheet.
I keep getting an error message that I need to sort on the active sheet, only.

    Can you please advise?

    Thanks!

I assume you checked the box for "Copy to Another Location"

When this is checked you must also either type in the sheet/cell reference (Sheet2!A1, etc.) or use the mouse to select a cell to enter the reference. Did you do this?
