Red face how do i undo the new window feature?

i'm an excel noob so forgive me. i accidentally managed to click "New Window" on the View tab so now i have dueling (dualing) copies of my spreadsheet (<filename>:1 and <filename>:2). all well and good but everytime i open the spreadsheet now, it opens two copies and i want it to go away! i promise i have searched hither and yon and can't find out how to undo this. would someone kindly enlighten me?

Just close one of the windows using the X in the UR corner.
