Formatting to automatically expand row height

I'm using the wrap format on a cell, but it only automatically expands the row height so far. After a certain point of typing in the cell I find that in order to show all the contents, I need to expand the row height automatically. I need this to work with Excel 97-2003.
Any ideas? Sometimes the simplest things are the most frustrating!

Is there a character limit on this? It only seems to automatically expand to a certain point.

Looks like I can only do 1146 characters. Anything after that and it will not expand.

I believe this will answer your question:
    for excel 2007:

    1. Select all rows you want to autofit
    2. goto the home tab on the ribbon
    3. In the "cells" block click the down arrow on format.
    4. Choose "autoFit Row Height"
