Interfacing MS Excel with a BarCode Scanner

I need to interface a Symbol (Motorola) Bar Code Scanner (BCS) with Excel, post product information gleaned from bar codes to designated cells, record changes in inventory, etc. on a spreadsheet. I have the BCS communicating with Excel in a rudimentary fashion, but cannot move to the next step of creating a spreadsheet, any help is appreciated.

well once you get it into excel then the rest is just arranging how you need
as long as the barcode digits are listed you should be able to manipulate it with say a pivot table or such.
