Negative numbers in thousands - please help

    Hi,
Im trying to present negative numbers in thousands, would anybody know how to do this?
For positive numbers, I go to Format cells/custom and add "#,##0 ,;[Red](#,##0,);- ;", but this doesn't work on negative figures.

I hope somebody out there can help me, this is driving me nuts!

Thanks for all help on advance!

    Hi,

Welcome to the forum, try this custom format

    #,_;[Red]-#,_(Space)

The (Space) is an actual space without the brackets so -12,345 would be -12
