[SOLVED]Custom Sort Data / Show Conditional Data

    Hi,

I would like to know how I can do the following, if it is possible. Right now I have a spreadsheet with a lot of data, 21 columns and 410 rows. My first column is a date/time column while my other 20 columns are degrees of planet positions, ie 293° 44' 48'', etc. I would like to sort through this spreadsheet and create a new spreadsheet or a list somehow, only showing the date/time when the planet first crosses a degree of every 10 degree increments. For example, Jupiter 290° 02' 51'', Mercury 40° 01' 26'', etc. I do not care about the rest of the data, only the first time that the planet hits a round degree value every 10 degrees. I hope this make sense. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Re: How can I do this?

Hi dude, welcome to the Forum.

Hate to welcome you with scoldings, but you do need to follow the Forum Rules, so please EDIT that first post and change your title to something that professionally presents the problem, and don't refer to yourself, just the need. Something will jump out at you as a title if you read the content of your post itself.

Then, you know how to attach files, so let's have the real Excel sheet instead of a picture.

Do those two things and I'll take a look at formula or macro to help with what you need. Go ahead and include a mockup example of your desired results so we can see what and where you want to see these things.

Re: Custom Sort Data / Show Conditional Data

    Hi JBeaucaire,

Sorry about my title. I understand that it will help future searches and posters with a more relevant title.

I have attached my spreadsheet. I'm not sure what Excel can give me as far as lists or tables go but I would really want something simple and basic. Time, Planet and degree value. Perhaps you could recommend something visually easy to look at and gather the information.

    Thanks for your help.

Let's give this a try, it works on the active sheet, so just run it on a copy of the sheet:

Re: Custom Sort Data / Show Conditional Data

It's me that thanks you JBeaucaire. But I was wondering if I could bother you once more. The formatting with the current macro makes it a bit hard to read. I was wondering if it was quick and easy to just output a chronological list from earliest date/time, including the Planet and the degree value. Maybe a change in the current macro? If it's not, then this will do just fine.

    Thanks again.

Show me the before and after starting where the current macro leaves off.

Re: Custom Sort Data / Show Conditional Data

Not sure what you mean JBeaucaire but I have uploaded two spreadsheets. One after the macro has done it's sorting and the other with how I would like the macro to format the list. Again, if this is too difficult or time consuming, I am happy with the macro. I don't want to bo too much of a bother. Thank you again.

Try this on the original data:

Be sure to get the updated code, I took out the two center loops completely.
